LINE BREEDING CHART
Line breeding is one way to create well-mixed lines of dragons with particular traits of the original parent stock.
The chart, known as Mr. Felch's Breeding Chart, was originally developed for poultry and I have copied it from a very old poultry book. It shows how a son may be mated back to his mother, father to daughters and how a wide range of further matings can be made. The original two parents should be unrelated and carefully selected for desirable traits.
The chart also shows the percentages of original parent blood in the offspring of each mating and how this can be manipulated by careful breeding. Dotted pink lines represent a female and solid blue lines; a male
When using such methods, it is very important to keep accurate records. I recommend the MSA software that can be found at the links page.
