The Bearded Dragon Breeders and Suppliers Network

The Bearded Dragon Breeders & Suppliers Network

The aim of this network is to create one location where you can find breeders and suppliers of Bearded Dragons who have adopted a common ethics policy. It is designed to help provide you with the ability to avoid those pet stores and breeders that sell very small, too young or sickly Bearded Dragons. It has become too easy to find tiny malnourished babies for sale in pet stores and by some breeder that only are interested in the sale and not the follow through or future of this species. Inbreeding from the small gene pool available outside of Australia has become a problem in many locations affecting the size, health and immune system of bearded dragons.. Hopefully this Network will cut down on the practice of selling hatchlings when they are too small, too young, inbred with potential genetic problems and in the process perhaps the disappointment and misery this kind of behavior has caused can be also reduced.

The suppliers listed on this site have agreed :

  • Not to sell (retail) tiny newborn hatchlings.
  • Not to sell babies until they are at least either 6 weeks old or 6" long (snout to tail).
  • To have a strict policy of keeping their bloodlines as mixed as possible, even when breeding for color, size or build.

If you are, or know of, breeders or suppliers who you feel might qualify for inclusion here, please let us know - and please spread the word. Also, if you find that any of the sources listed here are not conforming to the standards listed above, or you are otherwise concerned about their methods, please don't hesitate to get in touch. We do, and have, removed breeders from here for poor business practices, not abiding by these agreements of good breeding practices and taking advantage of new owners.

This site is provided as a free service to potential owners of Bearded Dragons, to improve and maintain high standards and quality to the public. Breeders not complying with their agreements here or warranties on their sites, will be removed.
